Whether you are looking for an elegant ballroom, cozy restaurant, quiet stretch of beach, sunset or an Ancient Mayan temple Belize has an array of venues for every couple and their guests.
I have recently travelled the country doing some research visiting different venues to help couples find that perfect setting that will align with their vision, match their guest list and of course not forgetting their budget.
Choosing the right venue is very important as if it doesn’t fit the clients style and budget they might end up spending more money trying to make the venue something that it’s not.
Below is a list of Venues you might like to consider:
San Ignacio Hotel –a family owned full service resort located in San Ignacio. A town in the Cayo District in the western part of Belize. The hotel offers three (3) different venue options within the hotel. The Bedran banquet hall which holds approximately 500 guests reception style and 350 banquet style; Caracol meeting room which holds approximately 150 persons reception style and 95 banquet style and the outdoor pool area which holds approximately 200 guest cocktail style and 80 persons banquet style. Each setting has its own unique flare.
Mayan Temple –There are two mayan temples in San Ignacio, Cahal Pech and Xunantunich. These mayan temples are surrounded by greenery and beautiful views of archaeological sites that have been in existence for many years and have lots of history within them. It’s the perfect venue for an elopement or a small wedding.
Villa Verano –is a 5 star beachfront Villa located in Hopkins Village. It’s a Garifuna village located on the southeastern coast of Belize. It’s considered one of Belize’s best hotels for families. It can accommodate 38 guest in their spacious 10 bedrooms. It’s perfect for family reunions, bridal parties, weddings or honeymoon. The villa has a 70 ft beach front pool and a very nice deck perfect to host your destination wedding.
Chan Chich Lodge– This is the perfect venue for the adventurous couples and wedding guest who are into wildlife. It’s a unique lodge located in the middle of 200 sq miles of private reserve in the far western corner of Orange Walk district. You will be surrounded by greenery and partly excavated ruins of an ancient mayan plaza.
Koko King, Caye Caulker – a 5 minute boat ride across the North end island of Caye Caulker you can find this remote piece of paradise with clear calm waters and amazing ocean and sunset views from over the restaurant where you can have a cocktail reception after your beach ceremony.
Jan’s Place, Caye Caulker – a locally owned hotel situated directly in front of the beach and close to all the shopping, restaurants and water taxis. At Jan’s hotel they welcome every guest like family. The hotel is considered your “home away from home” where relationships, people and genuine service make every guest a lifelong friend. This hotel is also the perfect venue for a beach elopement or a small intimate wedding with 15 guests. It has the perfect beach view for the ceremony and a cozy patio for the reception.
The Split, Caye Caulker – a great place to host an intimate or large your wedding ceremony and reception. Whether you are looking for ocean view or sunset view, the Split has options. They have a great bar and grill called The Lazy Lizards that offers a variety of foods and drinks. The venue is called The Split because it’s right at the narrow channel that splits Caye Caulker into two (2). The Split is known for its clear deep waters free of seaweed, making it one of the island’s best swimming area.
